EndNote Desktop allows a user to citations (references to works you use in your writing) and formats them in any of thousands of citation formats as you write your paper, annotated bibliography, dissertation, or publication.

Endnote is available for Windows and Macintosh.

EndNote X7.5 & above and Endnote Web Now Work on Mac with Word 2016

Just released an update for Mac’s using EndNote X7 and Word 2016. This plug in is the EndNote cwyw tool for Word 2016.

The new version of EndNote Desktop is X7.5

For version EndNote X3 and newer:

  • Open your EndNote Library
  • Click EDIT, then click PREFERENCES
  • Click URLS & LINKS on the left side of the Preferences window
  • In the OPEN URL ARGUMENTS box, replace =ISI:WOS with =ISI:endnote in “?sid=ISI:WOS&…”
  • Click FIND FULL TEXT on the left side of the Preferences window.
  • In the OpenURL Path box, enter:
    http://uw-primo.hosted.
    exlibrisgroup.com/openurl/WISC/
    wisc_services_page
  • In the Authenticate with URL box, enter:
    http://ezproxy.library.wisc.edu/login?url=http://www.library.wisc.edu/
  • Click OK
